Description

1.As an acetylation core reagent
The acetyl group of Acetyl Bromide molecules is susceptible to nucleophilic attack due to the strong electron-withdrawing effect of the bromine atoms. This makes it easy for the acetyl atoms in the target molecule.
Acetyl Bromide reacts rapidly with alcohols and phenols in order to produce the corresponding acetic ester, while hydrogen bromide is released as a by-product, which promotes the reaction.
