Ampiroxicam belongs to the class Xikang-derived nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs. The chemical structure of Ampiroxicam is similar to Piroxicam. However, its pharmacological characteristics have been enhanced through prodrug development.

Ampiroxicam is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, belonging to the class of Xikang derivatives. Its mechanism of action is similar to other NSAIDs, mainly by inhibiting cyclooxygenase to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects.
