The properties of Telmisartan
Telmisartan has a melting point of 261-263 ℃, is odorless, white or off white crystalline powder. Almost insoluble at pH 3-9, insoluble in strong acids (but soluble in hydrochloric acid), soluble in strong alkaline solutions.
The production method of Telmisartan
2-Propyl-4-methylbenzimidazole 6-carboxylic acid and N-methyl-o-phenylenediamine react at 150 ℃ to form 2-Propyl-4-methyl-6- (1-methylbenzimidazol-2-yl) benzimidazole.
Afterwards, alkylate with tert butyl 2- (4-bromomethylphenyl) benzoate in dimethyl sulfoxide in the presence of potassium tert butoxide. The product obtained after this process. When Telmisartan is dissolved in dimethylformamide, it hydrolyzes to Telmisartan under the action of trifluoroacetic acid.
